Doi Phu Nang National Park

Topography
Doi Phu Nang national park is located in Dok Kam Tai, Pong and Chaing Muan districts of Phayao province. The mountainous park covers the area of 858 square kilometers containing dry evergreen, deciduous and dipterocarp forest.

The park is a habitat for wildlife, some of these include Asiatic Softshell Turtle, bengal Monitor and birds especially peacock. The breeding season is from January to March.

Tourist attractions

Tharn Sawan waterfall: The 40 meters wide waterfall is located 300 meters from the headquarters.

There are many other tourist sites such as Chaowa waterfall, Yai Pha Tung cave, Tad Poo Kheng (a stone field on the middle of river) and Huay Ton Pung waterfall.

Accommodations and facilities
Doi Phu Nang national park has a camp ground (visitors have to bring their own tent and equipment), a small shop, a visitor center and restrooms.

How to get there
Take the route 1021 from Phayao district to Dok Kam Tai district then take route 1251 for 48 km to an intersection, turn right and follow the road for 4 km to reach the park's headquarters.
