National Parks in the North-East

Ta Phra Ya National Park

Topography
Tapraya national park is located close to Pang Sida national park, and is part of Phnom Dong Rak mountain range. The park covers parts of Sra Kaeo and Burirum provinces.

The Landscape is of mountains connecting Bantat and Phanom Dong ranges. The highest peak in the park is Pran Nuch at 579 meters.

There are fertile forests most of which are mixed diciduous, Dry evergreen and dipterocarp forest. Wild animals found include mountain goat, deer, barking deer, bear, warthog, monkey, red bull, and bull. There are various kinds of birds living in the park, such as minivet, blue magpie, parrot, and wood pecker.

Tourist attractions

There are several reservoirs within the park boundry, which are popular recreational spots for the local people. There are Khmer style temples (Prasart or castle) in the park.

Accommodations and facilities
There is canpground but tourists have to bring their own tents and equipment.
