National Parks in the South

Khao Nan National Park
Map page

The 436 square kilometers park is located in the northern part of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, to the south of Namtok Si Khid waterfall national park.

Mostly north-south running hill are part of Nakhon Si Thammarat mountain range. The hills are covered with rain forests consisting of many plant species including commercially important trees, and wildlife. The highest peak is Khao Nan Yai at 1438 meters above the sea. These forested mountains collect rains throughout the year and create many streams with waterfalls and caves.

There are several fine waterfalls, caves and mountains that people can visit. Some of these places need hiking on foot. Overnight camping may be possible if accompanied by a park's guide during good weather.

There is a campsite close to the headquarters, however visitors need to bring own gear.
